This is an excellent opportunity for those who like to mix adrenaline with indigenous culture. This hostel is located on the banks of the Pacuare River, bordering the Niri-Awari indigenous reserve and other protected areas that cover part of Talamanca. They also have the task of protecting regions that cover the amount of Talamanca and are focused on saving more than 60 hectares of forest. It is a sanctuary of life and refuge for flora and fauna native to that forest. So that you know, there is no electric light. Therefore, taking a flashlight along is recommended.
Access to the Ave Sol River Lodge is via hiking or rafting. You should choose the three-day, two-night package. This little peaceful place can accommodate 24 guests in triple and quadruple rooms.
You can go ahead and arrive on your initiative. A private transfer from San Jose, leaving at 07.00 am, is recommended. The drive takes around 2 ½ – 2 ¾ hrs to the meeting point in Tres Equis.
The maximum luggage weight is 12kg per person. The rest of the luggage will be stored for the next two nights. You will get it back in Siquirres.

Itinerary:
Depart from the little community Tres Equis between Turrialba and Siquirres. Meeting Point is the restaurant Tres Equis) At 09.45 am, take the raft and start the adventure for around 2 hours until you arrive at the lodge, passing mainly 3 class rapids. Lunch on the river banks included.
The afternoon is free to get to know the property’s surroundings or relax inside this isolated paradise, 100% amid the mountains. All guests can relax in the rancho’s hammocks or enjoy an educational experience with the jaguar during a guided walk through the rainforest—dinner at the hotel.
After a typical breakfast, participate in a 2-hour guided walk through the rainforest to reach the community and school of the indigenous people and share and learn about their culture. Option 2): Also, with prior reservation and advice when booking, you may alternatively participate in a waterfall hike with tree planting.
While returning, you may rest from this adventure for a happy hour, enjoying the sunset and a delicious dinner accompanied by an incredible bonfire.
After having enjoyed your breakfast, go on a waterfall hike before heading back in a rafting boat to Siquirres. If the weather allows it, enjoy your lunch snack on the river shore before arriving at Siquirres. The drop-off point will be the Restaurant Caribbean Dish between 1:30 and 2 p.m.
