They are located 300 metres southwest of David Montero’s ranch in San Marcos de Tarrazú, San José, Costa Rica, just an hour and a half from the capital of Costa Rica.

It is an ecologically and family-run farm where everything is produced organically. Here, the family of Lucidia Minor will welcome you, along with their 2-year-old daughter, Ruth, who is an excellent tour guide, winning the hearts of everyone she meets. This farm where this peasant family lives is an 80-year-old wooden house where Minor was born and where his daughter is now leaving her father’s footprints.

The objective is to rescue the roots, culture and traditions of their grandparents, where they cultivate many of their agricultural products such as chayote, corn and natural condiments, which are produced and grown with organic fertilizers made by themselves, where they cook on a wood cooker as their ancestors did, for example, they cook homemade bread, soups, rice and so on. They also have a small laboratory where they make their organic fertilisers, where Minor will explain the process and how they are used.

It is also a coffee farm where coffee is produced organically. The coffee is dried inside the plantation, and tourists are taught how to pick, roast it in a wood-fired cooker like their grandparents, and grind it to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee.

The place where lunch is taken is a rancho, similar to the dining rooms and kitchens of yesteryear, as it features an earthen floor with a cooker, corn hanging from the trusses of the zinc roof, and an open roof.
