Description: Juan Viñas is the first district of the canton of Jiménez de Cartago. This fabulous rural town offers all visitors a scenic, historical and natural adventure. These walks define four specific routes that have been analyzed and selected as the best in their four main points of this beautiful district. All courses combine nature, history, and spectacular views that you will enjoy to the fullest; on most routes, the customer can cool off in the majestic rivers and waterfalls this stunning place offers.
Recreational hike:
- 06.00h – departure from San José, National Theater
- 07.00h – breakfast en route
- 07.30h – (approx.) arrival at the site
- 07.45h – warm-up exercises
- 08.00h – start of the hike
- 10.30h – break for fruit and hydration
- 02.00h – return to base, end of the hike.

- 2nd option: NORTH ROUTE version 1 – 15 km – medium level of difficulty 4/10 – duration approx. 5 hours
- 3rd option: NORTH ROUTE version 2 – 20 km – high level of difficulty 7/10 – duration approx. 7 hours
- 4th option: EAST ROUTE – 21.5 km – high level of difficulty 7/10 – duration approx. 7 hours
- 5th option: WEST ROUTE – 22 km – high level of difficulty 7/10 – duration approx. 7 hours
