one day tour

QUITIRRISÍ INDIAN TRIBE

Description:

This community still preserves the spirituality and customs that their ancestors had.  Its activities extended across the Central Valley and part of the Pacific between Chomes de Puntarenas and Parrita.

Along the trails, you will visit important cultural sites such as ceremonial altars and tombs until you reach the municipality of Huetar, where after this beautiful experience, you will learn about medicinal plants, natural dyes, and handicrafts with natural fibers and continue your journey to Ciudad Colón, just 20 km west of San José.  It is one of the few cradles of traditional Costa Rican masks.

During this experience, you will learn about the impressive way these crafts are made, their technique, and their history.  The whole process takes place in the home of a Costa Rican family and ends with a dance with maroon and a delicious lunch.
