The experience starts with the visit of the Agroecological Farm, where you will receive an explanation by the owner of the different fruit trees and edible plants- like achiote, cilantro, guanábana, Chinese apple, medlar, oranges, zapote. Fruits from the Guanacaste area and end with a small snack sitting under a Guanacaste tree. It is an example of how small areas of land can diversify and produce food for in a sustainable way. Also during the corn production season you can see the varieties of corn (white, yellow, purple) and end with the experience of how to make coyol wine.
You will continue with the visit to la Casona Guanacaste, a more than 100 year old typical house, you will learn about the story of it. Lunch will be served in the dining area of the house.
After lunch you will continue to your pottery clases, a complete demonstration of the process, starting with the kicking of the clay, creating the piece and finally cooking it in a traditional oven. You will make your own piece and in addition expend time with a family whose modus vivendi has been transmitted from generation to generation.
To finalize you will make tortillas, a really important ingredient in the blue zone area diet. Enjoy it with a delicious coffee.
